About Alexander

Alexander leads our digital and commercial work in the EEMA region. He focuses on transformations and growth programs of private companies (including extensive experience counseling family-owned and founder-led businesses) and public-sector institutions. Alexander was a pioneer in applying advanced analytics and agile methodology to digital business building to solve the commercial and operational challenges of large corporations. He also leads our ecosystem of start-ups and technology companies in the EEMA region.

Examples of his recent client projects include the following:

  • designing and implementing a big data transformation for a leading telecommunications company, tripling its customer value management revenues
  • leading the holistic transformation of a top grocery company, doubling its profitability
  • driving operational improvements through advanced analytics for a major mining company, resulting in a 20 percent increase in profitability
  • developing and implementing a profitability-improvement program (using artificial intelligence) for a leading agricultural company, resulting in a 25 percent increase in profitability
  • transforming a financial institution and introducing a new digital-product portfolio
  • launching ten new digital services for a public-sector institution
  • designing and leading a merger of two major technology companies, resulting in a market-capitalization increase of 20 percent

Prior to joining McKinsey, Alexander oversaw acquisitions and asset turnarounds in Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for Western private-equity funds. He also worked in sales and operations at a global cosmetics company.
