He has a proven track record of empowering people and organizations to perform at their best by improving major business drivers such as topline growth, capital productivity, cost efficiency, operational effectiveness, and customer experience across geographies and a wide range of (primarily process-heavy) industries, including oil and gas, power, and chemicals.

Examples of Florian’s recent client work include the following:

  • leading an enterprise-wide transformation of a basin-focused oil and gas independent, realizing more than $150 million of recurring earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) improvements
  • deploying the transformation of a global onshore drilling company, implementing a wide range of measures including commercial, manufacturing, sourcing, and operational improvements, realizing more than $300 million of EBITDA improvements
  • leading a rapid transformation of the business unit of a global chemicals leader, covering PMO support, supply chain, manufacturing, commercial, and procurement, realizing more than $50 million of EBITDA improvements after 12 months
  • spearheading a large-scale transformation of a leading North American utility, realizing $300 million of run-rate EBITDA improvements across 5 workstreams and 4 waves of power plants, tripling market cap over 24 months
  • developing the business unit transformation of an integrated oil and gas major in Trinidad & Tobago, realizing 30 million barriels of oil equivalent of production uplift, more than $200 million in value improvements, and substantial improvements in organizational health
  • leading the large-scale sourcing transformation for an oil and gas major in unconventionals and deepwater, covering D&C and production chemicals and formulation design and resulting in more than $1.5 billion in value improvements
  • leading a cost transformation of a leading integrated oil and gas company and highest cash generator in the industry, reducing general and administrative expense by $1.5 billion (35 percent) for the North American region
  • launching a customer experience transformation for the business unit of a large global oilfield services company, which doubled market share through 20 percentage-point higher awareness and 39 percentage-point better win rate across six customer journeys (improving EBITDA by $275 million)
  • accelerating the product development and commercialization of new software services for a leading global drilling company, delivering $50 million of EBITDA run-rate in year one
  • leading a “minimal-technical-solution” design effort of a large chemical capital project in Europe, which reduced capital spend through various design optimization initiatives from $6.4 billion to $5 billion
  • developing M&A strategy for a cross-border merger of a leading mid-size oilfield services company, planning the postmerger integration, which created $400 million of synergies and improved organizational health
