About Rustem

Rustem joined McKinsey’s Moscow office in 2014 and specializes in projects for leading Russian and foreign metals and mining companies. His key areas of project expertise are strategy, production, procurement, supply chain management, organizational structure and management systems.

Examples of recent projects:

  • diagnostics of the efficiency of applying digital technologies in the mining divisions of one of Russia’s biggest steel producers; 
  • improvements in general & administrative cost efficiency in a large Russian mining & metals corporation; 
  • improvement of the production management system and implementation of a production system and integrated productivity enhancement program for a large mining company in Russia; 
  • operations diagnostics and design of operational transformation programs for large mining companies in Eastern Europe, the US and Australia;
  • development strategy for the Russian automobile industry. 

Rustem coauthored the McKinsey report "Digital Russia: new reality".

Prior to joining McKinsey, Rustem worked on operations and strategy consulting projects in The Boston Consulting Group and at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
