About Wesley

Wesley leads McKinsey Transformation across the Asia-Pacific region. Over the past five years, he has been a key leader in the development of our Practice globally.

In his work, Wesley counsels CEOs, boards, and executive teams on complex, enterprise-level transformations across a broad range of industries, including telecommunications, banking and financial services, resources, oil and gas, energy, retail and consumer, transport and logistics, and industrials.

Wesley has supported clients on transformation efforts across Asia (primarily China, India, and Southeast Asia), Australia, Europe, and the United States.

Examples of his recent client experience include the following:

  • leading a multi-year transformation of a major Asian telecommunication company to fundamentally reshape and reposition the business in response to market disruptions from changes in broadband technologies and new market entrants, including an enterprise-wide transformation effort to drive a step change in productivity, the assessment of market structure and scenario implications, redesigning the future state of the business, and transitioning it to a functional operating model with agile ways of working
  • delivering a performance turnaround for a global resources company to support it to become one of the world’s highest performing precious metals business, including building an execution capability across the business to significantly increase production, repositioning the cost position of the business and its assets, and improving organisational health by two quartiles
  • managing a good-to-great transformation for an Asian downstream petroleum business to sustain top quartile total shareholder return performance and create the foundation for the next stage of growth, including working across all aspects of the business from upstream production through to retail network optimisation
  • leading the growth and digital transformation for an Asian bank, including its retail, business, and wholesale units, as well as building a new digital bank in an emerging market

Wesley currently serves as a member of the Grattan Institute’s Public Policy Committee and is an adviser (and former board member) of the Cathy Freeman Foundation, which supports excellence in the education of indigenous students.
